If you find yourself in the "waiting game" while you await for surgery, information I am including in this section could be helpful as you prepare for your arrival home after. These pearls will not specifically dive into and explain each procedure, as this varies according to the physician and training, it can help give an overview for you.

Preparing for surgery can be stressful. How much help will I need?  How limited will I be?  What equipment should I consider?  When can I drive?  All of these are examples of important questions. When preparing for surgery, I suggest that patients look at an entire work day and non work day. What do you do from the beginning to the end of the day and everything in between?  If you would be on crutches, and not be able to use one of your legs, what could that day look like?  This next educational section is to help with some of these preparations and thoughts, perhaps contribute to more questions to help yourself prepare and move forward in your recovery process.
