Welcome to On Your Way Physical Therapy
My name is Sue Torrence, MS, PT, ATC and I have over 20 years of outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine experience to assess and create an individual plan of care to help meet your goals. I provide on-line screening and instruction in home programs for you to perform in the comfort of your own home. I will help you use whatever equipment you have and make additional recommendations to assist you.
Let me help you get you On Your Way! |
Specializing in Telemedicine
Telemedicine may be used provided you are located within the State of Colorado for physical therapy assessments and treatments. While hands on is not performed in an assessment, there are many biomechanical issues I can identify via live interactions with patients to help initiate, modify or address formwork with home programs. I can consult and assess concerns related to injury status and care. I can work in conjunction with traditional physical therapy if schedules do not allow for consistent in-clinic care to allow care to continue to move forward.
Specialized Services: The Hip AreaInformation related to hip issues and/or considering surgical intervention, please go to:
Hip Education and Helpful Tools: Hip Anatomy, Diagnoses, and Care Hip Education and Helpful Tools: Surgery and Care During my practice at a local sports medicine facility, I developed and managed our hip rehabilitation team, ranging from nonoperative to post-operative care with hip preservation procedures, including hip scopes, Periacetabular Osteotomies (PAOs) and Derotational Femoral Osteotomies (DFOs), to name a few. Nonoperative care includes assessing muscle deficits and neuromuscular dysfunction surrounding the hip, pelvis, and core region specific to you and your issue. With post-operative care, I coordinated protocols for Arthroscopic Hip Surgeries and Periacetabular Osteotomies (PAOs), and have over 15 years of specializing in treating these procedures. I can initiate your rehab at home, and transition you to an outpatient facility at your convenience. |
Physical Therapy AssessmentDuring your assessment, we will discuss the results of your physical exam and formulate a plan of care based on these findings and your goals. Education and instruction will be incorporated through your assessment time.
Physical Therapy TreatmentsYour treatment program revolves around assessments of your progress. There is no "set recipe" for your plan and interventions. If you are initiating physical therapy at home after surgery, as I ask that you please provide a Physical Therapy Protocol and/or prescription related to your surgical intervention.

I believe that a thorough assessment will guide an individualized comprehensive rehab program, and not a "one size fits all" approach.
All the Tools You Need to Succeed
By seeing you online, I take the guesswork out of "how will I do this at home?" or "I don't think I have the space for this..." I can assess what tools may be useful in your care, and optimize use of space in your home to address your specific deficits. In addition, I use your exercise background and your physical activities to help you achieve your goals.

One of the greatest assets I offer my patients is education. When you have a deeper understanding of how your injury affects your musculoskeletal system, then you will have a greater appreciation of the time and energy dedicated to your rehab to maximize your outcome. My goal is to identify and address local deficits, progress them into your general function, and get you On Your Way!
